Cartoon Carnival 33: Silents!

Animation has such a rich and vast history...and the earliest part of its history is oft overlooked and neglected in animation fandom. Silent-era animation also happens to be the magnum opus of film historian and archivist Tommy Stathes--and it's the first time he's dedicating an entire Cartoon Carnival to the medium.  There will be over a dozen 16mm (no digital!) cartoons from the 1900s-1920s, straight from the Stathes Archives to Standard ToyKraft's silver screen. All for your enjoyment! Travel back in time with these flickering rarities to see some of the first animated films our ancestors enjoyed a century ago.
