We’ve been recently hit [in the knee] by the whirlwind of press for the 1994 Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan Museum. Creators Viviana Olen and Matt Harkins are throwing a gala event to celebrate the museum's opening on April 18th at Standard Toykraft in Brooklyn, unveiling a complete video tour and featuring very special guests. The party is a month away, and already there’s been a media blitz: Time Out New York, Artnet News, Brooklyn Paper, CBS New York, Sports Illustrated, ABC News, New York Magazine and more!
The opening gala will feature a Ted-like talk from museum Curators Matt and Viviana, a presentation from Zachary Grady, writer of the play Toe Pick, a song from SRSLY (Danielle Gibson and Alexandra Fiber) A Story by Lynn Harris former premiere Tonya Harding impersonator, "How I became an Ice Princess" by I Am A Boys Choir (Adam Rigg, Chris DeVita, Kate Attwell), and the debut of the long anticipated Tour of the Museum!!!

From the creators: “Part of the museum team's research has been the realization that everyone is either a Tonya or a Nancy (if you're thinking about it, you're a Tonya. This of course is made more confusing by the fact that if you immediately thought you were a Nancy, you are most definitely a Tonya. The only real way to be a Nancy is to have very long lines in your body. If you thought you were an Oksana Baiul, well, aren't you just perfect, WE SEE RIGHT THROUGH YOU).”
