It Won't Buy You Lunch is a collaboration between Sydney Schiff Dance Project and members of the Open Music Ensemble (organized by Philip Foster) that questions why the performers pursue art as their careers (when they could very well be doctors and bankers) and why they do it in New York City (a psychotically expensive place to call home). We hope that by the time you leave you won't be wondering anymore.
The work features performances by SSDP veteran dancers Stephanie Chun, Elisabeth Martin, Leigh Schanfein, and Anna Schon, and OME members Nicole DeVault (harp and voice), Kaveh Haghtalab (kamancheh), John Murchison (bass), and Jonathan Saraga (trumpet). SSDP has also teamed up with inventor-designer Robert Olsen, lighting designer Tracy Lynn Wertheimer, filmmaker Jaffe DeVault, costume designer Samantha Gebb and visual artist Gregg Vance to create a synesthetic tour of the artists' favorite New York City spaces.
