WHO WE ARE
Standard ToyKraft is an arts organization that offers low-cost performance and rehearsal space, private studios and a puppet workshop.

OUR MISSION

Standard ToyKraft is an artist run theater and workshop that offers low-cost performance and rehearsal space, residencies, and private studio spaces for the visual arts.  The theater is called Standard ToyKraft after a toy manufacturing company that was in operation near our space in the 1940’s. We are located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  With the fast rate of development all over the city particularly in North Brooklyn, artists are being forced to live on the margins.  The founders of STK  felt that the community needed a supportive and nurturing, multi-functional arts space.  We discovered a derelict factory floor and using a lot of blood, sweat and more tears than any of us care to admit we transformed this old sweatshop into a community organization.

Standard Toykraft at it’s core is a community endeavor.  In this tough city we strive to offer a safe atmosphere for the development of theatrical productions and workshops.  We also produce events including puppet slams, variety shows and various spectacles for the amusement of our patrons.
